The introduction of direct flights between Addis Ababa and Hyderabad marks the first non-stop air link between this Indian city and Africa, facilitating enhanced trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

This new service also expands Ethiopian Airlines’ presence in India, making Hyderabad the fifth destination in the country after Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The airline’s extensive network offers passengers seamless connections to various destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The demand for air travel between India and Africa has been on the rise, driven by increasing trade relations, investments, and tourism. In 2023, approximately 80,000 passengers traveled between Hyderabad and African nations, highlighting the need for improved connectivity. Ethiopian Airlines’ new route is poised to meet this demand, offering travelers more convenient options for direct flights between the two regions.
