Discover Airlines, a leisure-focused carrier and part of the Lufthansa Group, has expanded its route network by introducing direct flights between Munich (MUC, Germany) and Windhoek (WDH, Namibia.) The inaugural flight took off from Munich Airport on April 1, 2025, marking the commencement of this new service.
Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details
Initially, flights depart from Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in the late evening. Starting in May, the schedule will adjust to Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using an Airbus A330-300. All classes are equipped with personal in-flight entertainment systems and Wi-Fi, along with complimentary messaging services, which are expected to be available from this summer.

Strategic Importance of the Route
Windhoek serves as a pivotal gateway for travellers exploring Namibia’s rich cultural and natural attractions, including Etosha National Park and the Namib Desert. The introduction of this direct route enhances connectivity between Germany and Namibia, offering travellers a convenient option to reach Windhoek without the need for lengthy layovers or multiple stopovers.
This new Munich-Windhoek route is Discover Airlines’ second long-haul service from Munich, following the launch of flights to Orlando, Florida, in March 2025. The airline plans to further expand its intercontinental network from Munich
