LAM Mozambique Airlines adds Lusaka as its next destination

Starting on the 30th of June, LAM will begin a new service connecting Mozambique and Zambia. Flights will be operated three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using the 50-seater ERJ145 aircraft.

The route will be operated via Harare in both directions. Harare is already served three times weekly, and thus, the Lusaka flights will be added to the existing Harare flight. Currently, the stopover in Harare has no 5th freedom rights, meaning travellers in Zimbabwe can not book a LAM flight to Lusaka nor can passengers in Zambia book a LAM flight to Harare. Hopefully, this will be addressed to allow 5th freedom rights.

A statemt released by the airline read, “We are excited to facilitate travel and contribute to the growth of southern Africa’s connectivity, and we believe that the new route will bring mutual benefits to Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe while providing another option for passengers in our region.”
