Rano Air’s inaugural flight takes off on May 7th!

Nigeria’s aviation industry is set to welcome a new player as Rano Air, a startup airline based in Abuja, is set to launch flights on the 7th of May 2023. The airline, which has a fleet of 5 Embraer ERJ145 jets, will initially fly to four destinations: Maiduguri, Kano, Lagos, and Sokoto. However, the airline has plans to expand to other destinations such as Kaduna, Gombe, Port Harcourt, Yola, and Asaba.

The Embraer ERJ145 jets that Rano Air will operate are becoming more and more popular in Africa and are ideal for the short to medium-haul flights, making them a good fit for Rano Air’s initial route network. Rano Air’s decision to focus on underserved destinations such as Maiduguri, Kano, Sokoto, and Gombe is a strategic move that will help the airline tap into the growing demand for air travel in these regions. These destinations are currently underserved, and Rano Air’s entry into the market will provide much-needed competition, which will ultimately benefit consumers.

Rano Air’s launch is a significant development for Nigeria’s aviation industry. The airline’s focus on providing affordable and reliable air travel to underserved destinations is commendable, and hopefully their efforts will make a positive impact on the aviation industry in Nigeria.
