Air Botswana Cancels Multiple Routes

Air Botswana has taken the decision to cancel three routes which the airline deems as non viable due to mounting losses. The cancellation of these routes is supposed to help in stabilising the carrier and reduce financial losses. The discontinued routes are:

  • Gaborone – Durban
  • Gaborone – Windhoek
  • Maun – Cape Town
Gaborone (GBE), Maun (MUB), Durban (DUB), CapeTown (CPT), Windhoek (WDH)

The three routes were launched in late 2024 during an expansion phase. Despite the losses and cancellations, Air Botswana remains committed to playing its part in growing the tourism industry with plans already in place to offer travel packages thats bundle flights, accomodation and tours as well as offering aircraft charter services.

The cancellation of the three routes will mean that only Maun – Cape Town does not lose direct flights totally as Airlink will now be the sole operater on the route. Gaborone – Durban and Gaborone – Windhoek will still be possible with one stop connections.
