Kenya Airways Expands UK Footprint with New Route to London Gatwick

In a move to expand its European network and strengthen connections between East Africa and the United Kingdom, Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced the launch of a brand-new direct route to London Gatwick Airport (LGW).

From Nairobi to London

Kenya Airways (KQ) officially launched its direct route between Nairobi (NBO) and London–Gatwick (LGW), complementing its long-standing Heathrow service. The new route operates 3x weekly in each direction, operating on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday from Nairobi and Monday, Thursday, Saturday from Gatwick.

Route launch celebration

Kenya Airways continues its daily non-stop flights between Nairobi and London–Heathrow (LHR). That gives passengers 10 total weekly connections to London, seven via Heathrow, plus three via Gatwick. Heathrow flights have long been Kenya Airways’ cornerstone into the UK, favored by business travelers and those connecting onward. By adding Gatwick to its UK portfolio, Kenya Airways is not replacing but is enhancing its UK offerings. The two London routes will provide travelers with greater scheduling flexibility, airport choice, and connectivity options, especially as competition on African routes to Europe continues to intensify.
