TAAG Angola Airlines Increases presence on Regional Network

TAAG Angola Airlines is enhancing its regional connectivity by increasing flight frequencies to key Southern African destinations to bolster its network. These enhancements aim to provide passengers with greater flexibility and convenience, reinforcing Luanda’s position as a central hub for regional travel.

Maputo (MPM):

Flights from Luanda have increased to five weekly frequencies, operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Cape Town (CPT):

Services have been boosted from seven to nine weekly flights, including double-daily operations on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and daily flights on other days.

Johannesburg (JNB):

TAAG maintains daily flights and has plans to increase frequencies to 13 per week, enhancing connectivity between Angola and South Africa.

Luanda to Johannesburg, Maputo, and Cape Town.

Fleet Expansion and Future Outlook

To support its growing network, TAAG is investing in fleet modernization and expansion. The airline has placed orders for 15 Airbus A220 aircraft, aiming to replace its older Boeing 737-700s and enhance operational efficiency. TAAG also took delivery of the first of four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in early 2025.

Additionally, TAAG plans to double its fleet over the next few years, with a target of operating at least 50 aircraft by 2027. This ambitious growth strategy underscores TAAG’s commitment to becoming a leading carrier in the African aviation market.
