Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has officially resumed direct flights to Nairobi, marking a major milestone in the airline’s strategic expansion into East Africa. The inaugural flight landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) on June 2, 2025. This marks the first Gulf Air flight to Kenya in over 13 years.

The resumed service operates five times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (with two frequencies), and Sundays utilizing the airline’s advanced Airbus A320neo aircraft. Known for its fuel efficiency and enhanced onboard experience, the A320neo offers both business and economy class seating with updated amenities.

Nairobi is already served by major international carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Flydubai, and Kenya Airways. Gulf Air’s re-entry into this competitive market will diversify travel options for passengers and potentially stimulate competitive pricing and improved service offerings across the market.
