Uganda Airlines has officially inaugurated its direct flight service between Entebbe International Airport and London Gatwick. The inaugural flight took off on May 18, 2025, re-establishing a direct air link between Uganda and the United Kingdom for the first time since 2015
The UK is home to a significant Ugandan diaspora, estimated at over 200,000 individuals, creating a substantial market for travel and remittances. Additionally, Uganda’s exports to the UK were valued at $22.6 million in the previous year. The direct flight is expected to bolster trade, tourism, and investment opportunities between the two nations.
Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details
The new route operates four times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, utilizing the Airbus A330-800neo. This aircraft offers 258 seats with 20 business class, 28 premium economy, and 210beconomy class seats.

The flight schedule is as follows:
Entebbe (EBB) to London Gatwick (LGW):
- Sunday (UR110): Departs at 09:25, arrives at 16:55 GMT
- Tuesday (UR110): Departs at 00:05, arrives at 07:35 GMT
- Wednesday (UR110): Departs at 00:25, arrives at 07:55 GMT
- Friday (UR110): Departs at 03:10, arrives at 10:40 GMT
London Gatwick (LGW) to Entebbe (EBB):
- Sunday (UR111): Departs at 19:05, arrives at 06:35 (+1 day)
- Tuesday (UR111): Departs at 09:40, arrives at 21:10
- Wednesday (UR111): Departs at 09:50, arrives at 21:20
- Friday (UR111): Departs at 12:40, arrives at 00:10 (+1 day)
The flight duration is approximately 9 hours and 30 minutes each way.
With this strategic expansion, Uganda Airlines aims to enhance its global connectivity, offering passengers a more efficient and convenient travel option between East Africa and Europe.
