Delta Air Lines Expands African Footprint with 2 new destinations.

Delta Air Lines is set to significantly expand its presence in Africa with the launch of new nonstop services to Accra, Ghana; and Marrakech, Morocco. These routes, beginning in late 2025, reinforce Delta’s commitment to strengthening U.S.-Africa connectivity and offering travellers more direct, comfortable, and efficient travel options.

New Route to Accra

Beginning December 1, 2025, Delta will introduce a new seasonal daily nonstop service from Atlanta (ATL) to Accra (ACC). This route complements the airline’s existing daily service from New York-JFK to Ghana’s capital. The flights will be operated with the state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo, featuring Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating.

This additional service boosts Delta’s seat capacity to Ghana by approximately 30%, catering to increased demand from both leisure and business travellers.

Flights to Marrakech

Delta will mark its entry into Morocco with a brand-new route from Atlanta to Marrakech (RAK), launching on October 25, 2025. This marks the airline’s first-ever flight to the North African nation and will operate three times a week using a Boeing 767-400ER.

Passengers can expect Delta’s full suite of onboard amenities, including fast, free Wi-Fi, and multiple cabin classes. Marrakech, a vibrant cultural and tourist hub, adds a unique destination to Delta’s global network and opens new travel possibilities for American and Moroccan travellers alike.

Strategic Growth and Investment

These new routes are part of Delta’s broader strategy to strengthen its global network and invest in fast-growing international markets. Delta’s African expansion aligns with its ongoing improvements at its Atlanta hub, including the opening of a 24,000-square-foot Sky Club and other facility enhancements to elevate the customer experience.
