Lufthansa to add 2 new routes to South Africa

On the 2nd of September, Lufthansa will launch flights between Munich (MUC, Germany) and Johannesburg (JNB, South Africa) with 3 weekly flights operated using an Airbus A350-900 aircarft. These flights are set to be year-round with a possibility of increasing frequency. On the 26th of October, daily flights between Munich and Cape Town (CPT, South Africa) will begin, but this will be a seasonal route. These flights will also be operated using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Currently, Lufthansa operates flights to Johannesburg and Cape Town from Frankfurt only. It utilises the Queen of the Skies; a Boeing 747-800 for the Johannesburg flights, and Cape Town gets the older but also a quadjet aircraft, the Airbus A340-300.
