A 30 year old Transair Senegal Boeing 737-300 with registration 6V-AJE operating on behalf of Air Senegal was seriously damaged when it overran the runway at Dakar Blaise Diagne Intl Airport (DSS, Senegal). The aircraft was attempting to take off with its destination being Bamako (BKO, Mali). Unfortunately, a hydraulic issue occurred during the take-off run, resulting in a runway excursion. The left wing and engine caught fire. All 79 passengers and 6 crew members were able to evacuate, but 10 people were injured during the ordeal.
