A Dana Air McDonnell Douglas MD-82, operating a flight from Abuja (ABV, Nigeria) to Lagos (LOS, Nigeria) veered left off the runway upon landing in Lagos. The aircraft came to a stop on soft ground with the nose gear collapsed. None of the 83 people onboard were injured.
In response to the incident, Nigeria’s aviation minister, Festus Keyamo, directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to suspend operations at Dana Air pending an audit of the airline. This audit should encompass all aspects of safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial health to ensure full compliance with regulations.
