Fastjet Suspends Hwange, Kariba and Maun flights

Fastjet quietly removed flights to Kariba, Hwange and Maun. The short-lived flights to Kariba and Hwange were introduced towards the end of the first quarter of 2023 (March and April) using an Embraer E120 turboprop aircraft with 30 seats. The airline acquired two of these jets on lease to serve the regional destinations and flights to Maun in Botswana, but it seems load factors have not been able to justify the continued operation of the route. Unconfirmed reports say that the routes might be resumed on a seasonal basis, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The routes that have been suspended and are longer visible on the airlines’ booking site are:

• Harare – Kariba
• Harare – Hwange – Victoria Falls
• Victoria Falls – Kariba
• Victoria Falls -Maun
