Starting on the 21st of March 2024, Cemair will begin operating on the Johannesburg – Harare route. Flights will be operated 4 times weekly. Competition on the highly profitable route will once again intensify as there will now be 6 airlines operating on the route. The airlines are Airlink, South African Airways, Fastjet, SafAir and Air Zimbabwe. SafAir only introduced flights on the route towards the end of 2023 and have been very popular due to their low prices and plan on introducing a second daily flight in the near future. Fastjet on the other hand have had to reduce their daily flights due to the increased competition.
