About United Nigeria
On the 21st of February 2021, United Nigeria operated their first scheduled flight which flew from Lagos to Enugu. The flight was operated using one of four ERJ145 jets it had in its fleet. Since then, the airline has worked on expanding its domestic route network in order to fully utilise its existing fleet of four ERJ145 aircraft.
Expansion
This year, the airline announced plans to begin regional flights with destinations such as Ghana, Angola, South Africa, Niger Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, and Senegal being targeted. The airline also announced its plans for intercontinental flights to Houston Intercontinental (US), London Heathrow (UK), Amsterdam Schiphol (Netherlands), Rome Fiumicino (Italy), Dublin International (Ireland), and Dubai International (UAE).
Fleet
In order to support this ambitious growth plan, United Nigeria plans to expand their fleet by adding a total of about 13 aircraft over the next two years. Currently, the fleet consists of four ERJ145s, which were added in 2020 before the airline began operations. One Airbus A320 was added to the fleet on the 14th of October, and it began scheduled flights on the 17th of October. Before the end of the year, two Embraer E190s are expected to have joined the fleet. In terms of new aircraft, the airline has ten E175s on order from Embraer, and all ten are expected to have been delivered by the end of 2025. For the intercontinental flights, the only information released was that the flights will be operated by Airbus widebody aircraft.
