Ibom Air operated their inaugural flight between between Lagos (LOS, Nigeria) and Accra(ACC, Ghana), and this also marked the airlines first ever regional route. Flights will be operated daily using one of their CRJ900 aircraft. Ibom Air Executive director and Chief Operating Officer Mr George Uriesi said, “We are thrilled to commence our regional operations today with the inaugural flight between Lagos and Accra. This is a significant step for Ibom Air as we expand our network out of Nigeria and into the African continent. With this new route, we aim to enhance connectivity between Nigeria and Ghana, fostering tourism, trade, and tighter economic and cultural ties.”
Currently, Ibom Air has a fleet of seven aircraft. Five Bombardier CRJ 900 and two Airbus A220-300s covering a total of seven destinations. In November, Ibom Air expects to receive its first of ten A220-300s ordered from Airbus, which will allow the airline to continue its expansion whilst also increasing frequency and capacity on existing routes.
