Ilyushin Il-76 crashes in Mali

An Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft belonging to The Mali Air Force crashed on the 23rd of September at Gao International Airport (GAQ, Mali). The aircraft touched down late on the runway, resulting in it overrunning the runway and going down an embankment at the end of the runway. The aircraft eventually came to a stop in a thick cloud of dust and immediately burst into flames. It is not clear how many occupants were on board the aircarft. The aircraft had arrived in Mali from Belarus the previous day and was scheduled to fly to Turkey on the day of the crash.
