Qatar Airways operated its inaugural flight to Namibia in September 2016 and was suspended due to covid in 2019. Flights resumed in June 2022, and now Qatar Airways will operate their last flight on the Doha – Windhoek route on the 21st of November 2023. The 4,003-mile (6,442 km) route is currently operated three times weekly using a Boeing 787-8 aircraft. It is not yet clear if the route will be abandoned totally or if it will become a seasonal destination.
