On the 7th of October, Uganda Airlines will launch flights to India operating on the Entebbe (EBB, Uganda) – Mumbai (BOM, India) route three times weekly every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The widebody Airbus A330-800neo will be deployed on all flights. Chief executive officer, Jenifer Bamuturaki said, “I am delighted about the opening of Mumbai because it is not only our second international route but because of its significance to bilateral relations, trade, tourism, and culture.”
Flights to India will be launched on the 19th of October. Uganda Airlines will offer three weekly flights between Entebbe and Lagos (LOS, Nigeria) every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. The route will also be operated using the Airbus A330-800neo. Flights from Lagos are conveniently timed to allow for connecting passengers from Nigeria to fly to India with a short stopover in Entebbe.
Uganda Airlines will need more aircraft in order to support their growing route network. The airline is still working on launching flights to destinations such as Lusaka (LUN, Zambia), Harare (HRE, Zimbabwe), London, and Cape Town (CPT, South Africa). Currently, their fleet consists of four CRJ900 aircraft and two A330-800neo aircraft. The CRJ900s can carry a total of 76 passenger, (12 business class and 64 economy seats) whilst the A330 can carry a total of 261 passengers (20 business class, 28 premium economy and 213 economy).
