Proflight Zambia takes delivery of first cargo aircraft

Proflight Zambia has once again expanded its fleet but this time they took delivery of a freighter aircraft in the form of a Bormbardier CRJ100. The aircraft is a perfect fit for the airline as they already operate a fleet of one CRJ100 and two CRJ200 passenger aircraft. A third CRJ200 is expected before the end of September.

Captain Josias Walubita, Director of Flight Operations at Proflight Zambia, expressed his enthusiasm about the development: “We are thrilled to welcome these new aircraft to our fleet. The CRJ100 Parcel Freighter is a valuable addition, especially in the current market environment. It will allow us to provide even more reliable and efficient cargo transportation services.”

The CRJ100 freighter had an interesting delivery flight. It departed from Calgary on September 1, 2023, at 16:00 local time. The aircraft was ferried from Calgary to Goose Bay on the East Coast of Canada, across the North Atlantic to Keflavik, Iceland. The aircraft then headed to Ljubljana, Slovenia. Then, at 18:05 on Saturday, the aircraft departed for Jedda, Saudi Arabia, and Nairobi, Kenya, before finally landing in Lusaka, Zambia, at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
