2 Boeing 747s in Tunisia to be auctioned

Iraqi Airways will be selling two of its Boeing 747s via auction. The jets have been parked at Tozeur Nefta Airport in Tunisia since 1991. Both jumbo jets were manufactured in 1982, with one being the 747-200C variant and the other being a 747SP variant which was used as a government aircraft.

The auction will occur on the 16th of August. Bids start at US$494,000 and require a 20% deposit. The winner is required to deposit the money within a week of winning the auction. Both aircraft have not been maintained and are therefore not airworthy.
