Air Algèrie announced that none of the received bids met its requirements. The tender was for six widebody aircraft (four A330-200/300 GE aircraft and two A330-900 aircraft), as well as four other medium-lift aircraft (two B737-800 aircraft and two B737-9 Max aircraft). Four aircraft were originally expected to be received by the end of the last quarter of 2023, whilst the other six aircraft were expected to be delivered during the first half of 2024.
A statement released by the airline read, “Air Algérie hereby informs all bidders who responded to international consultation N°:01/AH-DG/2023 concerning the operational lease of up to ten aircraft in a dry-lease arrangement that, at the end of the evaluation process, the international consultation was declared unsuccessful for non-conformity of the bids with the requirements of the specifications.”
Air Algèrie recently placed orders for 7 Airbus aircraft and 9 Boeing aircraft.
