Boeing 727 with 300+ passengers overshoots runway

A Boeing 727F overshot the runway in Juba (Juba, South Sudan). The Managing Director of Juba Airport, Mr Kur Kuol said the overshoot was caused by rainwater which had invaded the runway making the landing site shorter.

The flight was an evacuation flight coming from Sudan, and unconfirmed reports claim that the cargo aircraft was carrying more than 300 passengers onboard. A passenger configured B727 is capable of carrying a maximum of 189 passengers.
