Aircraft aborts takeoff in Kenya and causes runway closure

Flights from and to Kenyas Nairobi International Airport have been suspended after a Singapore Airlines Boeing 747F aborted takeoff due to technical issues with the aircraft. The cargo jet arrived from Johannesburg and was scheduled to fly from Nairobi to Amsterdam. Multiple tyre bursts occurred therefore, towing the aircraft off the runway will not be a simple task.

A statement released by Kenyas Airport Authority read, “Our top priority is the safety of all passengers, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve this situation as quickly and safely as possible.”
