Uganda Airlines Plots London Heathrow Flights.

Uganda Airlines has been trying to launch flights to London for a while now, and all its attempts have currently been in vain. This has not dampened spirits as the airline is looking at an alternative way of flying to London. Their solution to the current red tape preventing direct flights is to make a technical stop in another country before proceeding to London.

Currently, Uganda Airlines will only get approval to operate direct flights once Entebbe International Airport has gone through a security audit by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority. This process could take as long as two years, according to the airlines CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki.

Airports that had been suggested are in Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Turkey. With the exception of Turkey, the rest of the countries with a suggested stopover are in Africa, and this could represent an opportunity to negotiate fifth freedom flights thus increasing likelihood of full flights to and from London.
