EgyptAir takes delivery of first narrowbody freighter.

EgyptAir took delivery of a B737-800SF, which once flew for the carrier as a passenger jet before being retired in March 2022. The Boeing jet is the first narrowbody freighter for the airline as they already operate two A330-200 freighters in their cargo fleet.

The converaion was done by Aeronautical Engineers who are based in Florida. The conversion included the installation of an 86″x140″ cargo door on the left side of the fuselage and modification of the main deck to a Class E cargo compartment capable of carrying a payload of up to 23,904 kilograms. The aircraft is now capable of carrying eleven 88”x125” AAA full height containers or pallets plus one AEP/AEH.
