Safair Wins Big at OAG World Rankings.

OAG, a global travel data provider based in the UK has ranked Safair as the world’s second most on time airline in the year 2022. Safair increased its flight operations by 47% as compared to 2019, and despite a 0.02% cancellation rate, the airline managed to achieve a 95.3% punctuality rate in 2022. Safair lost out on first place by 0.33%.

Safair spokesperson Kirby Gordon narrowed down their great on time performance to two factors, “First is the fact that we manage all our own maintenance, which means we have full control over keeping our fleet in tiptop shape, thereby minimising delays due to technical issues. The second factor is a great team with a great culture – a group of people who want to be the best in the world and who know that if they apply themselves, they can be.”

Safair has been on an expansion drive since the shutting down of Comair Air, which operated Kulula and British Airways. Alongside acquiring new jets, the airline announced its plan to launch flights to 11 New destinations. For more on this story, click here.
