Madagascar Airlines to expand fleet with 3 new jets.

Madagascar Airlines has signed an agreement that will see it taking delivery of three Embraer E190-E2 jets. One aircaft is set to be delivered in March 2023, whilst the remaining two jets will be delivered in 2024. The new jets are expected to be used on domestic routes as well as to allow for the airline to launch flights to Mauritius, Johannesburg in South Africa, and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

Madagascar Airlines is a new government owned airline that will be made up by combining the existing Air Madagascar and its domestic subsidiary Tsaradia, which both declared bankruptcy in November 2021. The newly formed Madagascar Airlines hopes to acquire Boeing 787 Dreamliners that will allow it to expand to international markets. No firm orders or commitments have been placed for the dreamliners yet.
