Aero Contracors is a Nigerian based airline with its main hub in Lagos. The airline will be resuming flights on the 5th of December. Flights had been suspended on the 30th of July due to what it said was a harsh operating environment. The suspension of flights came at a time when most Nigerian based carriers were in a tight spot as fuel scarcity was causing prices to sky rocket and operating costs were significantly increased as most tickets would have been bought way in advance.
The Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Musa Nuhu said “Aero Contractors was not grounded based on safety issues, we did an audit of them because whatever audit you do, you have findings and they were some minor findings. We audited them and we found out that the issue they had was finance sustainability.” He also noted that Aero had been cleared to resume flights, “As far as we are concerned, they can resume operations.”
