Air Peace suspends flights to Johannesburg.

Air Peace (APK, Nigeria) has announced that it will temporary suspend flights on its Lagos 🔁 Johannesburg route for a period extending to almost 2 months due to factors beyond their control.

Effective 22 August, Air Peace will suspend all flights to Johannesburg and flights are set to only resume on the 8th of October. Reasons cited by the carrier are;

  • Delays in issuing South African visas as well as difficulties in obtaining the visas for Nigerians.
  • Worsening forex crunch.
  • Fuel scarcity which in turn is increasing fuel costs.

Air Peace is in a tight spot as they have to increase ticket prices to remain profitable whilst at the same time passenger loads are low due to the prevailing visa issues. Air Peace has contacted the South African High Commission in Lagos and is hopeful the situation will improve thus allowing them to resume flights to Johannesburg on the 8th of October.
