
A state-owned airline called Ibom Air was launched on the 20th of February in Nigeria. The airline is said to begin operations with a fleet of three Bombardier CRJ900 jets which will be based in the state of Akwa Ibom operating from Obong Victor Attah International Airport. One of the routes eyed by the state airline is the Uyo~Lagos~Abuja route as this was singled out as the most traveled route by people staying in the Akwa Ibom state. The new airline is expected to provide jobs for 300 people while also creating some 3000 indirect job opportunities.
