African aviation on the rise. New routes, new aircraft…

Egyptair Cargo:

EgyptAir A330 freighter

EgyptAir Cargo recently got their second A330 freighter and this has allowed them to expand their cargo services as follows. From their hub at Cologne Bonn Airport to Johannesburg in South Africa, Lagos in Nigeria, N’Djamena in Chad and Khartoum in Sudan.

Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737

Ethiopian Airlines is set to start daily direct flights from its hub to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar instead of serving the route as a triangular trip from Addis Ababa~Kilimanjaro~Zanzibar~Addis Ababa. Also there is planned aircraft change for the Addis Ababa~Victoria Falls~Gaborone~Addis Ababa route.

Emirates Boeing 777

Emirates plans to increase flights from its hub to Abuja in Nigeria, Casablanca in Morocco, Conakry in Guinea, and Dakar in Senegal will all be increased to twice daily starting from the 1st of June.

Air Botswana:

Air Botswana Embraer E170

Air Botswana will relaunch flights to Harare and Lusaka on a triangular operation from Gaborone~Harare~Lusaka~Gaborone starting on the 2nd of April. Flights will be operated twice weekly. Air Botswana will also launch flights from Francistown to Kasane and Maun whilst flights from Kasane to Johannesburg will also be introduced.

Uganda Airlines:

Uganda Airlines new CRJ900 still undergoing test flights before final delivery.

Africa World Airlines:

Africa World Airlines 8th erj145 arrives in Ghana.

Air Tanzania:

Air Tanzania airbus A220

Air Tanzania finally launched their triangular flight on the Dar-Es-Salaam route.
