Mango Airlines to install Split Scimitar Winglets on their aircraft.

In a bid to improve efficiency and ultimately reduce costs, Mango Airlines SA will begin installation of the Split Scimitar Winglets on their B737-800NG aircraft in February.

According to b737.org.uk website the Split Scimitar Winglets will result in the below benefits:

1. Fuel savings ranging from about 1.6% to about 2.2%
2. Improved climb gradient.
3. Reduced climb thrust which increases engine life and therefore reduces engine maintenance costs.
4. Reduce the noise footprint by 6.5% and NOx emissions by 5%
